Happy Ending
By Jeff Johnson

The hero wins the race in just the nick of time,
Before he won, he was in last.
But yet he's won and now his girl friend comes and kisses him,
And they walk happily off into wonderful bliss,
Happily of into wonderful ...

Every story's s'pposed to have a happy ending,
At least that's what we're to think.
But I'm afraid that's not the way it always happens,
And I wonder if it happens at all,
Walking away into wonderful bliss ...

Oh, I don't know how I'm gonna make it,
"You can always just pretend."
But I don't know if I ought to fake it,
"It'll work out in the end."
Ooh, I don't know how I'm ever gonna make it,
"You can always just pretend."
But I don't know if I really ought to fake it.
"It'll work out!"

Every story s'pposed to have a happy ending,
At least that's what we're to say.
The hero wins the race in just the nick of time,
And he walks happily off into wonderful bliss ...
